Recently, after sharing stage with bands like Textures and Monuments and exhibiting their brutal live presence in France, Belgium, Holland etc; west London’s emerging tech-metal band Exist Immortal has released their debut album Dream Sequence on the 28th of January this year via Canadian record label Revolution Harmony Records. The mini-album is packed with deafening growls, melodic vocals, gut-wrenching screams, catchy riffs, palmy bass, and clean chugs. The album pulls your sub-conscious mind to a confused and vague state of mind, rendering the endless hideous hypotheses of the end of the human race and leaves you inquisitive about the century old question; will our ignorance lead to the ultimate destruction of our race? Will we be the reason of our own demise? Though all the seven tracks are equally good, I personally feel that the last track The Silence (which also features session musician Fred Brum) deserves a special mention both structurally and lyrically and it bespeaks the completion of the nightmarish journey of your sub-conscious; the soothing melodies and guitar opening of this track are simply bewitching…After a storm comes a calm! The Silence is definitely the best track of the album. Well talking about the band, formed in March ’11 Exist Immortal had already put themselves in Europe’s heavy metal radar with their debut EP Insects back in June’11 and followed by their gravely applauded double-single Insects / Exist in April’12. The band seems to be getting better with each release; Dream Sequence has already been seizing attention aplenty world-wide. Wrapping up, if you’re into alternative metal, Exist Immortal is one of the bands to watch out for this year!
Track List:
1. A Timeless Voyage
2. Grabbity Gravity
3. Initiate
4. Exist
5. The Fracture
6. Terminate
7. The Silence

Footnote: The album is now being put up on Terrorizer magazine’s website for free streaming.
Calling Me Home is one of the most popular novels it starts with a Sixteen-year-old Isabelle McAllister who longs to break away from the boundaries of her northern Kentucky hometown, but after her family’s housekeeper’s son rescues her from a Newport drunk, the restrictions seem lesser than ever.
Falling in love with a black boy in late 1930s Kentucky was not only illegal but it was risky. The Negroes were warned about the limits, “Don’t let the sun set on you here.” Regardless of repetitive warnings, Isabelle and Robert pay no attention to the racial segregate, opening a chain of actions that threatens lives, jobs and generations to come.
Over the years, the black hairstylist Dorrie Curtis agrees to drive her white customer to a funeral. For Dorrie Miss Isabelle has become more than just a customer. But Dorrie, distress over the new man in her life and her teenage son’s irresponsible choices, still wonders why Isabelle chose her.
Isabelle confesses that, as a teen in 1930s, she was deeply in love with Robert Prewitt, a would-be doctor and the black son of her family’s housekeeper. The tale of their prohibited bond and its awful penalty makes it clear Dorrie and Isabelle are headed for a gathering of the extreme importance and that the history of Isabelle’s first and greatest love just might help Dorrie find her own way.
This is an interesting novel the context is interesting and takes us back to the memory lane of 1930’s.

SNITCH
DIRECTOR: Ric Roman Waugh
After an interval from films Dwayne Johnson ‘The Rock’ is back again with his latest movie Snitch.
It is the story of a father whose only son is put in prison for custody and to distribute drugs. Even though he has committed this crime for the first time, he can be placed in prison for many years and this makes his father anxious to get him out. The plans he makes to get his son out of the prison makes up the plot of the movie.
John Matthews owns a company. His son Jason lives with his mother after John and his first wife Sylvie got divorced. John gets married again and has a young daughter with his new wife. John has always felt some guilt about not being a part of Jason’s life, therefore when he gets the news about his son who has been arrested for possession and intent to distribute drugs.
He talks to the local District lawyer, Joanne Keeghan and she agrees to decrease Jason’s sentence if he will identify some of his drug connections. Jason claims he doesn’t know anyone since this possession of drugs was a onetime thing and he got them through a friend who is already cooperating with the authorities. Desperate, John offers to find someone for them to prosecute. He plans to do this by offering his trucks to drug suppliers to use in conveying drugs and money.
The movie has some disturbing scenes as John tries to gain access to the drug world. He places not only his life in danger but also that of his family and one of his business employees that he takes into his confidence. Disclosure would bring instant death, but John will do anything to get his son out of prison. The ending of the movie is too unexpected. Still there is enough detail to make the story complete.
This is a film which is both entertaining and informative and a real achievement for Dwayne Johnson. This is one of the best role he has ever played which makes the movie worth watching.
